Bathroom Upgrades Are Worth the Expense

Posted: October 12, 2009

In a recent  article released by the Chicago Tribune, it's estimated that homes with an extra half bath (pending that there are as many bathrooms as there are bedrooms) can add an additional 10% to the price of the home. An extra full bath can command almost an additional 19% increase! Homeowners can also improve their bottom line by updating their current baths (especially the Master Bath) with cost effective treatments and simple upgrades. A mid-range remodeling project costs a homeowner an average of $10,500 nationally, but can reap 100% of the costs upon a sale. A friendly tip - make sure not to "over-improve" your bath. If you go too far on the other end of the spectrum, you may have put yourself out of others (and your own) price bracket.
