Florida Is the Place To Be For Newcomers

Posted: October 14, 2009

In a recent study conducted by Forbes magazine, four of Florida's cities made it onto a list of the 100 most populous Metropolitan Statistical Areas (2008). The cities in question? Cape Coral, Lakeland, Palm Bay, and Bradenton, FL. An interesting aspect of this study was that the cities that ended up ranking highest in new residents were actually college towns.  College towns typically bring in a wealth of younger residents, and consequently, these students evolve into young professionals that stay, and draw in similar people. Here are some other cities that made the cut, courtesy of Forbes magazine and Information, Inc.:

* Colorado Springs, CO
* Provo, UT
* Bakersfield, CA
* Austin, TX
* Raleigh, NC
* Columbia, SC
